WHY TALLOW?

Tallow is made by rendering suet, the beef fat found around the kidneys. It is a natural moisturizer full of beneficial vitamins (A, B12, D, E, and K) and fatty acids (steric, oleic, palmitic, palmitoleic, linoleic, alpha linoleic, conjugated linoleic). These nutrients are absorbed directly into the skin, and have numerous benefits:

  • Anti-inflamatory (alpha linoleic and linoleic acids)

  • Antimicrobial (palmitoleic acid)

  • Reduces wrinkles and improves skin smoothness (palmitic acid, vitamin A)

  • Moisturizing and regenerative (stearic and oleic acid)

  • Deeply penetrating (oleic acid)

  • Reduces acne (vitamin A)

  • Fights sun damage (vitamin E)

WHY IS 'PASTURE RAISED' IMPORTANT TO TALLOW?

Pasture raised beef have higher nutritional content because they have access to and are allowed to eat a diversity of plant species. This increased nutritional density is found in the meat and fat (tallow) of the animal. Tallow from cows raised on pasture and rotated intensively have even higher nutrient density,  with increased levels of vitamins and fatty acids.

Alternatively, feedlot cows have very little diversity in their diet and are exposed to more toxins. These toxins can be found in their fat, and we don't want to smear that junk on our skin. Only pasture raised tallow for us!

I would highly recommend this tallow to my friends and not my enemies. Its that good.

I've used the sleep time balm the last 2 nights and can definitely feel the relaxation from the wonderful scent and magnesium. I think it feels wonderful! I even rubbed some below my nose to smell it more.
